How can I prevent/remove rust in the stainless steel Glacier Fountain?
How to Prevent Rust:
There is a possibility of impurities present in stainless steel parts from the factory, which could potentially result in rusting after usage. However, this issue can be easily avoided by thoroughly cleaning the stainless steel parts before using them.
When it comes to cleaning, it is essential to wipe them with a sponge along with soapy water. For the initial cleaning, Merely relying on a dishwasher without manually scrubbing with hands is insufficient to ensure proper cleanliness.
How to Clean Rust Stains:
1. In a container, mix two cups of water with one tablespoon of baking soda.
2. Using a soft cloth, gently rub the baking soda solution onto the rust stain. Baking soda is non-abrasive and will effectively remove the rust stain from stainless steel. Alternatively, using a stainless steel cleaner is also recommended.
3. For stubborn stains that cannot be wiped away, it is suggested to soak the rusted area in citric acid for about one hour before wiping it off.
Note: Citric acid should be handled carefully and kept away from the skin and eyes. It is advised to wear protective gloves when cleaning. To achieve an ideal concentration, dissolve two ounces of citric acid (equivalent to approximately 1/3 of a cup) into one gallon of warm water.
